Wedding Anniversary Mass at Sacred Heart

If you are celebrating a numerically significant wedding anniversary (25th, 50th, 60th, etc.) please RSVP the parish offices as to your willingness to participate in the annual Wedding Anniversary Celebration Mass July 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.  Our Catholic belief in the sacramentality of marriage in the Catholic Church should be celebrated in a world where marriage is too often seen as a temporary legal arrangement.  We will celebrate God’s powerful presence in your marriages and the image of God’s love which your marriages portray to the world.  Please call the office (513) 858-4210 if you would like to participate as an honored couple at the Mass on July 1.

Reflection on Scripture

The Kingdom of God does not operate by the perceived rules of science or by the rules of man; but by the rule of God.  Jesus uses analogies and metaphorically explains how in nature, a small seed can produce a big plant.   How a planted field can grow and produce a harvest without anyone really understanding the intricacies of how it happens.  Jesus makes it clear that it is the height of arrogance for humans to tell God what He cannot do!  So when God says he will build up His Kingdom; bet your eternal life on it.

Therefore, when we cannot understand how God will accomplish something, do not allow doubt to erode your faith.  A General does not explain his entire master battle plan to all the troops.  Rather he tells each command what they must do.  If they do their part, the whole thing will work, even though they do not understand the whole plan.

Do what God commands you to do even when you do not understand why.  This is the kind of obedience God rewards in Heaven.
