Job Posting for Principal of Sacred Heart School

Sacred Heart of Jesus School, a K-8 co-ed Catholic elementary school located in Fairfield, OH, in close proximity to Hamilton, Ohio and Northern Cincinnati, serving a population of 440 students; seeks an outstanding Catholic educator and leader to serve as the school’s principal starting on July 1, 2020.  The candidate must have a master’s degree in educational administration, an Ohio principal’s license, at least three years of classroom experience, and at least one year of administrative experience.  Reporting to the pastor, and serving on the school’s advisory body, the education commission, the principal has leadership responsibility for the academic program, teacher development and evaluation, and all state and archdiocesan compliance activities. 

Since its founding in 1958 under the direction of the Sisters of St. Francis, Oldenburg, IN, Sacred Heart School has grown in stages to include eighteen classrooms augmented by a well-equipped gymnasium and “specials” areas in which to instruct art, music, library skills, and technology.  Its teachers are at the forefront of professional development, incorporating best practices integrating technology in a collaborative environment to the benefit of learners.  Its current principal will retire at the conclusion of this school year after thirty-seven years as principal.  More information about Sacred Heart School, its mission, students, and community can be found at www.shjs.org.
