The Sacrament of Confirmation

Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the "sacraments of Christian initiation, whose unity must be safeguarded. It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace.

NEW!!! The Sacrament of Confirmation is received in the seventh grade and the prepration for the sacrament will start in the sixth and will continue until the end of seventh grade . 

Dear families,

A decision to transition Confirmation to the seventh grade will take effect this
calendar year of 2024-2025. Because of this change there will be no celebration of the
Sacrament of Confirmation this Spring. The next Confirmation will be in the Spring of 2026,
when confirmand will then receive Confirmation in the seventh grade.
The preparation process for the Sacrament of Confirmation will undergo changes as
well. Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation will begin in the sixth grade and will
conclude in the seventh grade with the celebration of the Sacrament. Dividing the
preparation process into two years will provide the needed time to better focus on the
various aspects of this process and hopefully provide a deeper understanding of the
Sacrament for everyone involved.
The Beacons of Light Model instituted by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati is what
brought about the change. To better align with this model and bring stronger unity, as well
as continuity, our schools and parishes will undergo this transition together. The Sacrament
of Confirmation has been celebrated at different grade levels with different processes
between the schools and parishes. The goal is to unify this Sacrament and its processes as
we look to the future of one parish family.
